TCRC 2006-2007 Indoor Season General Information.

The first weekend of racing will be Saturday November 4th. We will race every Saturday thereafter through the last Saturday of March.

***********************************

Schedule and Start Times –
Weekly races:
Doors open Noon, Signups close 2PM , Drivers Meeting 2:30PM, Racing at 3PM.

***********************************

Points Series – The point series will run the course of the whole season, not including special events. Starting November 4th running through March 31st. Each racer’s top 12 races out of the 18 eligible will count. We will be taking $1 for each entry in the class throughout the series and adding it to a purse to be paid out for that class at the end of the year. The payout will be 50% to 1st, 30% to 2nd, and 20% to 3rd.

***********************************

Pitting - one of the first new renovations for this year that you will notice when you enter the track is the redesign of the facility to put all of the pits on the left side of the gym near the bleachers. There are 30 8ft tables sectioned off into 60 4ft pit spaces.

All of the racers that came down and helped out during this years track and facility renovation will get to reserve a pit space for their use all year long. The 3 hobby shops that support the track (A&B Hobbies, Ed's Hobby Shop, and Smith Hobbies) will each get their choice of a full 8 foot table. After these selection have been made any other racer can reserve a pit spot for $15 for the year.

The only criteria for reserving pit spots is that you remain responsible for any valuable items left at the facility. Also if you are not going to be racing and (though highly unlikely) there aren't enough pit spaces for all who show up to race someone will be allowed to pit in your space during your absence. I doubt this becomes an issue though because even though we've had entry levels in the 70's we've never had more than 54 individual racers.
***********************************

We will still follow the rule that if the 2nd round of qualifiers have not been completed by 9PM we will skip the 3rd round and proceed to the mains.

***********************************

There are 12 classes for which we have developed rules. Of these classes there must be 3 racers present to run that class on a particular race day. If you want to run a class that isnt one of the 12 listed, you can still do so as long as there are 5 racers in that class. So... if its one of the 12 listed classes then 3 makes a race while anything else takes 5 to make a race. Hope thats clear.

I will be posting the finalized rules shortly. I can tell you that ALL 19T oval classes can run either fixed or adjustable timing motors. This includes 12th scale oval, 10th scale oval, and TC oval. The onroad classes etc will still remain with fixed timing only.

I have polled the majority of legends drivers and the overwhelming majority would like to keep the current pinion rule in place. So that will be the rule this year as well.

***********************************

We will be running IFMAR qualifiers in ALL classes. We will also run a maximum of 6 racers per heat and main in ALL classes. There will be 1 bump up spot for each class.

This means that if there are 8 people running a particular class then there will be 2 heats of 4 racers for that class. If there are 12 racers in the class then there will be 2 heats of 6. 13 Racers would be 3 heats (5,4,4).

This also means that only the top 5 in each class qualify for the A-main. The bump spot will be the 6th driver in each main.

***********************************

Oval classes will run 4 minute heats and mains.

12th scale onroad will run 8 minute heats and mains.

All other classes will run 5 minute heats and mains. (this includes the 2 classes that alternate oval and onroad... they will run 5 minutes regardless of whether its the oval or onroad week)
