11-3-11

Well outdoor season is over. I want to thank all the racers who made this a very good season for TCRC. We had some old friends come back and race, plus some new friends. Congratulations to all the series champions.

We are getting the gym for this winter. We will start with an oval and go from there. We will need help getting the gym cleaned up and the track boards laid. Any donations of time or materials would be a great help. We are hoping to have a work party soon, so stay tuned for more info. So if you have some electric cars get them ready for some indoor clean fun.

9-27-11

We had a good turn out Sat.  The points races are getting close.  This Sat is the Series Finally and is a double points race, so don't miss out.  I want to give a big shout out to Chance Acord, he won the SCT4wd class and is only 10.  Great job Chance.  TCRC is also running their first "Team Endurance" race Oct 8th.  You'll need a 3 man team. One running a Buggy, one a Truggy and one a SCT.  Get your team ready and get signed up for some good times.

We'll see you at the track.

9-18-11

Sat was TCRC's annual west Virginia State Championship Race.  We had great attendance.  Shane Racer is the Pro Buggy Champion. Todd Kingrey is the Pro Truggy Champion.  Roger Lovett is the Sportsman Buggy Champion.  Darin McKenzie is the Sportsman Truggy Champion.  Jerry Acord is the SCT 4wd and 2wd Champion.  Jamie Kingrey is the Kids Class Champion. I want to thank all those who attended.

We had a nice turn out this weekend.  Tiny and Eric Spelock had a nice battle in the Pro Truggy class.  Little Christian really put on a great show in the kids class.  There are some close races in the points series.  The points are up to date with all 4 drops figured in.  Don't forget the State race Sept 17.  Sign up on www.rcsignup.com to make sure you get your t-shirt size.

Well, the 2011 Brawl for it all is in the books. The weather was great for the event and lots of hard work took place to make it all come together. Thanks to everyone that had involvement. Would like to thank Jesse Robbers for coming to town and proving that the Hot Bodies is a car to contend with. We should have pictures up soon.

Another week is in the books. The weather was nice and stayed dry for a change. A good class of Corr trucks was on hand and with more 4x4 trucks showing up, the power and speed is quickly making this class exciting.
This weekend is the Brawl for it all.  Hope to see a good turn-out. Have a great week and get your equipment ready to go again.

Well the second try to get the Ticket Race in was not just rained out but flooded out.  Please keep your ticket.  The next club race you come to give Jess your ticket and she'll see if you won anything.  Also you will get $5.00 off your next club race.  We had some new faces at the race this weekend as well as some old friends who showed up.

I have been racing at TCRC for five years now I do believe and I do know one thing for sure about Wayne county WV. When it decides to rain, it usually has little problems in doing so. Yesterday was one hot day getting things setup and the rain was a welcome site. Once the track dried however, the second storm appeared. That one was not welcome but very little can be done.
The ticket race will be held this weekend July 30th since it was a rain delayed. If you didn't sign up this week, you are still welcome to attend. We do have gifts that will be given and several companies stepped up to help out. I hope to make it but if I even do, I will be late. Out of all things to be doing on Saturday, I'm in weddings for the next two weekends. I have done my best to talk them out of it but it hasn't worked as of yet.
-Have a great week and stay cool-

A good time was had Saturday at TCRC. The turn-out was a little low but it's vacation season so that can be expected.
It was good to see a few new faces running the Corr class. Speaking of Corr class, it sure looks like a lot of fun especially since Losi and Associated have both released a truck worthy of giving you the full racing experience.
This weekend is the ticket race and hope to see a good turn-out.
                                                      ****Attention*****
The mid-west heat wave is expected to reach our area later in the week.
Saturday could be a hot day so be prepared with sun-screen, shelter for shade and your favorite beverage. (no alcohol)

We had some new faces this week.  I'd like to welcome Chris D. back and also welcome Hunter T. and Daniel M. to the track.  It's great to see some new faces.  All 3 did great on the track.  Don't forget July 23rd is the Ticket race.  We have some really nice prizes to give out.  Also make sure you get registered for The Brawl For It All to make sure we get shirts in your size.

We'll see you at the track.

Looks like we had a good group of racers this past weekend. I was unable to show up but I'm looking forward to a good July 4th weekend. I'm sure some may be headed out of town but I hope we see a good group of racers. Till then, get those cars ready.

We had a good day of racing and somehow managed to avoid the storms and rainfall that surrounded the area.  I think the weather might have scared a few people off and I do know of some that wanted to be at the track but had to work. This race was in honor of Ann Hatfield, the late wife of Bob Hatfield. Her charity was the food pantry which helps several in need around the area. We managed to raise $300 which will go towards this charity in honor of Ann.
Hope to see everyone next week.

I hope everyone had a great Saturday of racing. I was unable to attend due to hay season being in full swing but that's life.
I have heard that the vote for starting the races has passed to stay
at 2pm.
Have a great week.

Attention:  June 4th, we will be starting at 2pm and the new time will be announced.

Another good day of dry weather racing is in the books. A good time should have been had by everyone. It was good to see some new faces and would like to wish everyone a welcome back.
We are currently voting on the starting time. This week was the first installment of the votes and next week will be the last Saturday to vote. This should insure that anyone who participates gets a vote. If you miss the 2-week voting, well you just missed it as the majority votes win. We cannot please everyone but the dog must wag the tail, not the tail wagging the dog.
I want to see race results just as bad as anyone else. We are working on that and should be ready soon.

We finally got our first full day of racing in. It was a fun day for sure but a small turn-out for the King of the Hillbillies.

The unknown computer operator is Jess. I ask Mike Workman if that was short for Jesse but he said for sure that was a no. Thanks Jess for running a good program. You're doing a fine job.

This coming weekend will be a 3-day weekend for many so I hope to see a better turn-out.

Please voice you opinion to one of the many charter members. If you're paying to race, I for one believe the tracks operating hours should cater to the majority. I have quickly found that it's impossible to please everyone but I intend to do my best.  If you wish to state your starting preference time you can email me at

Thanks

Well, Saturday was supposed to be our first official start and it got off to a good one. During round 3 of the heats, the clouds began to roll in. We did manage to get all the heats in but when it decided to rain, it came in buckets. It's been awhile since I have seen it rain so hard and the road back to the interstate was flooded in many areas. I have since seen on the news where the area was hit hard with slides and flooding. I do hope that anyone that experienced any loss was minimal.

I would like to give a big thanks to Jamez, Mike W., Sanford and Shorty for the work they done throughout the day. Your efforts don't go unnoticed. A HUGE thanks to our new computer operator. I'm sorry for not knowing her name but she knows we're there to race and she keeps it going and has been running a great program.

So far, next week looks to be a good weather weekend so time will tell. Once we can get in a full day, we will start posting results.
Till then, clean, inspect and get ready for the next Saturday.

Well, the first race of the season finally got underway Saturday evening. Since the track was still in its rough stages, and everything was just getting started the racing was free for those who attended.

By the time the 3rd heat rolled around, the track started to come in really nice. Sanford showed up to watch what the track was actually providing and looking for trouble spots as well as operating the shovel.

A big hand goes out to Sanford for getting the track built during all this in climate weather. Also several people were involved in getting this season underway and a big thanks goes out to all that helped.

Hopefully the weather will hold and we will be able to get this season started. Remember, we start at 2pm and you need to be signed up by then. If you're running late, have someone to sign you up. This will greatly help the computer operator.

Hope to see you Saturday.

I would like to thank Mike V., Mike W., Jaymz, Bob H., Shorty for coming out Thursday and getting all the pipe laid down.  The track is still very wet.  But if we don't get any rain Fri or Sat I think we can be running.  There is still some work to be done on the track.  So come early Sat and help get the track ready.  The more people we have helping the faster it gets done.

This past Sat. Sanford had a chance to get some track work done.  I'd like to give Sanford a BIG THANKS for taking time off to come down and send all day on his day off to work on the track.  I think he has built a very nice track again this year.  I would also like to thank, Bryant, Shorty, Bob and A&B Hobbies, Mike, Jaymz and a special thanks to Eric and his son who don't race with us but were there to play with their Bajas.  They spent all day working with us and helping out where they could.  Thanks to everyone who came out and helped out.

We will be working on the track Wednesday to finish the track.  We will be putting the pipe down and installing the loop.  All help is needed.  We are still on for this Sat to be the first race of the year.  Weather permitting.

A special thanks to Dr. Kathie Watson-Gray for donating a computer to the track.

We'll see you at the track

Do to flooding, TCRC's opening Race will be postponed till May 7th.

TCRC's Charter members had their February meeting.  After more discussion we will be charging a $3.00 rental fee for house transponders this year.  TCRC will also be using ROAR rules this year for all classes.  You can look up the rules on ROAR's website.  We are also working on getting a TCRC Facebook page, stay tuned for updates with that.

TCRC's Charter members had their January meeting.

The 2011 schedule is set and you can pre-register on RC Signup at  www.rcsignup.com.

Racing is going to start at 2pm on Saturdays until Memorial Day, see the schedule for dates.  From Memorial Day thru Labor Day racing will start at 4pm.  After Labor Day races will start at 2pm. Sign- in will close 15 minutes before racing starts.  If you are not signed in by then you will not be entered until the end of round 1.

This will be the last year of free house transponders.  Next year there will be a rental fee for house transponders.  It would be a great idea to get a personal transponder.  Trust me and other racers, they are well worth the money.

In the next few weeks we may have some more exciting news, so stay tuned.

Our Survey
TCRC is looking into a possible building for indoor racing this winter. We would like to know how many people are interested in running indoors??

View Results

Please take a minute at answer the survey to help us decide if it would be worth the time and effort to set up and build and indoor track if a facility is available.

Thanks for your time and cooperation with TCRC on this matter

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I'm sure we all ate more than we should have.

Christmas is a great time to get stocked up on products for the upcoming 2011 season.
A new servo has been sweeping the county. The new Savox line of servos that were made famous overseas is now available through Bob Hatfield at A & B Hobbies. His contact info is at the bottom of the page. These new servos offer a lot of speed and torque at a great price.

Now get the economy moving by spending some money and please do it locally.

Well, 2010 is in the books. Time for the holidays and looking forward to 2011.

I would like to thank everyone that made 2010 possible. I would also like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

For those that would like to continue racing through the winter, Dixon's RC in Hazard Kentucky has indoor action as does The Ohio RC Factory in Jeffersonville, OH.
